At the Compassion Tutoring Center, children receive academic support in a safe and caring environment. They strengthen their learning, practice English, develop computer skills, and grow in Christian values—while being encouraged to dream and believe in their future.
Through community outreach, we support families facing difficult circumstances by meeting real needs and building lasting relationships. From food distribution to special events, our work is focused on long-term impact rooted in compassion and faith.
Love in Action. Hope with Purpose.
Compasión en Acción exists to serve vulnerable children and families in Guatemala through holistic, Christ-centered care.
We believe every child is created with purpose. Through education, discipleship, and practical support, we walk alongside families to help them grow in dignity, faith, and opportunity.
A safe, clean, hope-filled place where children from age 3 and up receive:
Academic tutoring
Homework support
Literacy for children not yet enrolled in school
English classes
Basic computer training
Christian values and discipleship
But above all, they receive love, compassion, hope, and purpose.
We provide bunk beds to children who do not have a dignified place to sleep.
A bed means:
Safe rest
Dignity for the family
Peace for parents
Health and stability for children
A bed changes more than a night—it changes a life.
We deliver water filters to families without access to clean drinking water.
Clean water means:
Fewer illnesses
Better health
Greater quality of life
A single filter can prevent disease and protect a family.
Each month, we provide food baskets to families in greatest need.
No family should face hunger alone.
We support children from surrounding communities so they can attend a Christian school, receive quality education, and grow spiritually.
We invest in education that transforms generations.
Once a year, children receive new shoes—offering protection, dignity, and better conditions to attend school.
Before the school year begins, children receive complete school supplies so they can start strong and confident.
Many of the children we serve come from families that never had access to education. Without intervention, cycles of poverty continue.
Through Compasión en Acción, children are discovering that their story does not have to end where it began.
Education opens doors. Faith restores hope. Love transforms futures.
Our Impact over 5 Years.
For more than five years, we have witnessed the transforming power of Christ’s love in action.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our ultimate authority for faith and daily living.
We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, rose again on the third day, and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.
We believe in the local church as a community of believers called to serve others, grow in faith, and use the gifts and talents God has given us to bring hope, love, and transformation to the world. ” We are an independent Christian ministry, not affiliated with any specific denomination. Our faith is firmly rooted in the Word of God and in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Israel Rosas arrived in Guatemala with his family to found Compassion in Action after years of faithful service as a missionary, church planter, and pastor in Savannah, Georgia, Italy, Argentina, Ecuador, and throughout Central America.
Together with his wife Yeni and their children—Filippo, David, Yeis, and Buddy—the Rosas family is passionate about loving God and loving people. Their greatest desire is to see every community experience the peace, joy, and transforming love of God in daily life, so that all may live in the abundant life that Jesus Christ offers.
As a family, they serve side by side, traveling wherever God leads them, planting seeds of faith, hope, compassion, and restoration in the communities they are called to reach.
If you would like to partner with and support the Rosas family in their missionary work, you may designate your donation as “Rosas Family.” In doing so, you directly contribute to the care and sustainability of this missionary family as they continue serving faithfully.
God has led us step by step toward establishing a Christ-centered Tutoring Center.
We first opened small computer labs in San Martín and later in Zone 21. Both were closed due to local opposition and increasing violence.
In 2025, we began serving families in San Pedro Sacatepéquez, providing practical support and recognizing a deep educational need. In February 2025, we opened a small tutoring space and now serve 18 children three times a week with academic support, English and computer classes, and biblical teaching.
We are now developing a permanent tutoring center in a partially constructed building.
